Alabama Man Sentenced to Life for 2018 Murder of Greg Davison

Attorney General Steve Marshall Announces Life Sentence for Conecuh County Murderer 2

vergreen, AL — Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced that Jadarrin Watkins, 23, of Conecuh County, has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2018 murder of Greg Davison. The sentence was delivered by Circuit Court Judge Jack Weaver in Conecuh County.

Watkins was convicted of felony murder on March 5, 2025, following a seven-day trial. Prosecutors presented evidence that Watkins and a co-defendant entered Davison’s residence with the intent to steal money. During the burglary, Davison—who was asleep—was awakened and subsequently shot and killed inside his home.

The case was prosecuted by the Criminal Trials Division of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office. Deputy Attorney General Kenneth Gibbs and Assistant Attorney General Sara Rogan led the trial proceedings.

The investigation and prosecution were supported by several agencies, including the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Department, and the Evergreen Police Department. The Office of Victim Assistance also provided support throughout the process.

Attorney General Marshall stated that the life sentence reflects the serious nature of the crime and acknowledged the combined efforts of law enforcement and legal personnel involved in the case.
