Alfa Insurance® Pursues New Montgomery Headquarters with Focus on Modern Workforce Needs

Alfa® Engaged in Negotiations to Relocate Corporate Headquarters

Montgomery, AL – Alfa Insurance® has entered negotiations to purchase an existing commercial complex in Montgomery to serve as the future home of both Alfa and the Alabama Farmers Federation. The proposed acquisition would keep the company’s corporate headquarters in the Capital City, specifically at Capitol Commerce Center off Interstate 85 at Exit 11.

According to company officials, the decision follows an extensive review of site options. The move is being considered in response to shifts in workforce needs and technological advancements, which have left a significant portion of Alfa’s current headquarters underutilized.

“Technology and workforce changes have left about half our current space underutilized,” said Alfa and Federation President Jimmy Parnell. “As we considered possible locations for the home office, our priority was to provide an environment that supports innovation, collaboration and flexibility while displacing the fewest employees possible.”

Alfa has indicated that the relocation is part of a long-term strategy to foster employee engagement, enhance productivity, and continue providing quality service to customers. Company leadership emphasized that the transition would align with efforts to attract talent and modernize operations.

Parnell also acknowledged the support of local officials and community organizations in working to retain the company’s presence in Montgomery, noting the cooperation of the Montgomery County Commission, Chairman Doug Singleton, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed, the City Council, and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Alfa is proud to be an Alabama-based company with a rich history in Montgomery,” Parnell said. “Our goal is to continue investing in Montgomery by creating jobs and developing civic leaders who give back to the community.”

If the due diligence process concludes successfully, the company expects to close on the property by summer. Renovations would follow, with plans for a phased move-in to the new facility. Alfa will maintain its existing campus while exploring potential buyers for the property.

Founded in 1946 as the Alabama Farm Bureau, Alfa has been headquartered in various locations throughout Montgomery. The current East South Boulevard location has been expanded multiple times since 1958, with the addition of a data center in 2006 bringing the total footprint to nearly 500,000 square feet.

“While our location may be changing, Alfa’s Core 4 Values are not,” Parnell said. “Faith, Family, Community and Integrity are guiding the process as we seek a new home for our corporate headquarters.”

The company has not yet announced a timeline for the completion of renovations or a specific move-in date.
