HUNTSVILLE, AL — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) welcomed Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll and U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kans.) to Redstone Arsenal this week, highlighting the military installation’s strategic importance and showcasing its array of advanced capabilities supporting national defense efforts.
The visit, one of Secretary Driscoll’s first major site tours since his Senate confirmation earlier this year, included briefings at key commands and offices headquartered at Redstone Arsenal. Among the stops were Army Materiel Command (AMC), the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO), Program Executive Office Missiles & Space (PEO Missiles and Space), and Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO Aviation), where they reviewed the development of the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA).
In a public statement, Senator Britt underscored the significance of the visit and Redstone Arsenal’s broader role in U.S. military readiness. “Redstone plays an invaluable role in American national security by supporting several branches of the U.S. military, with a primary emphasis on the U.S. Army,” Britt said. She added that maintaining global military superiority requires well-equipped and well-prepared warfighters, a mission she believes Redstone is uniquely positioned to support.
Senator Britt also noted her attendance at Driscoll’s official swearing-in ceremony at the White House in February.
Redstone Arsenal is home to a variety of military, intelligence, and civilian agencies, making it a key hub for defense and national security efforts.
