WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL), along with the full Alabama Congressional delegation, has introduced a resolution commemorating the 65th anniversary of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and reaffirming support for the Center’s mission and workforce.
The resolution highlights the Center’s decades-long role in leading America’s space efforts and acknowledges its continued contributions to human spaceflight, innovation, and national security.
In remarks supporting the resolution, Senator Britt emphasized MSFC’s legacy and its role in the future of American space exploration. “The U.S. space program is vitally important, and Alabama and MSFC continue to play an integral role in redefining the boundaries of human imagination and the heights of human achievement,” she said. “I will continue to ensure that this groundbreaking work is supported now and long into the future.”
Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) praised the Center’s achievements and workforce, noting that it has been instrumental from the Apollo program to the Artemis missions. “This is because of the talented scientists, technicians, and support staff who’ve poured their heart and soul into earning Huntsville the title of ‘Rocket City,’” he said.
Other members of the delegation, including Representatives Barry Moore (AL-01), Mike Rogers (AL-03), and Terri Sewell (AL-07), also voiced support, citing MSFC’s impact on national innovation, economic development, and American leadership in space exploration.
