CLEBURNE COUNTY, AL — The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Ethan Nathaniel Pirkle was taken into custody without incident on August 7, 2025. Authorities expressed appreciation to community members for remaining vigilant and extended special thanks to those who assisted in locating and apprehending Pirkle.
Sheriff Jon Daniel shared, “This arrest is a testament to the outstanding cooperation and coordination between the Sheriff’s Office and US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force. When dangerous individuals try to evade justice, we will work together across jurisdictions to ensure they are held accountable. I want to thank all the agencies involved for their dedication and professionalism in safely bringing this wanted felon into custody.”
The arrest stems from an investigation into an incident that occurred on July 24, 2025, on County Road 49 in the Oak Level community. At approximately 5 a.m. that morning, deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence situation involving firearms being discharged.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that the suspect had left the residence prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Victims and witnesses were located and interviewed at the scene, which was secured for further investigation. The Jacksonville State University Center for Applied Forensics was called to assist with processing evidence.
Investigators learned that a shot had been fired by an individual at the scene toward the suspect, but the suspect was not struck. Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies conducted a search of the area but initially were unable to locate Pirkle.
Warrants were issued for domestic violence, and authorities asked the public for assistance in locating the suspect. No additional information is being released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
